Construction Manager

Construction Manager, Hinkley Point A site, Contract
CNL has been awarded a project at the NRS Hinkley Point A Site that involves delivery of the following scope:
• Multi-discipline Design
• Procurement & Manufacture
• Construction
• Inactive Commissioning
Construction Planning Duties
The successful candidate will act as the CNL focal point during the construction planning phase.
The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that arrangements are compliant with the CNL Business Management System (BMS) and the relevant Health and Safety legislation.
Construction Implementation Duties
• Support the Construction Project Manager in management of the construction site, including supervising the labour force, monitoring subcontractors, checking materials, inspecting work and overseeing quality control
• Deputising for the Construction Project Manager as required
• Ensure compliance with the procedural controls, as detailed in the CNL Business Management System (BMS)
• Plan the work on a day-to-day basis, in line with the project programme
• Ensure the overall construction scope is delivered on time and to budget
• Monitor progress
• Promote and maintain health and safety, including site inspections to ensure safety rules are being followed
• Report Writing
• Ensure Safe System of Work documentation is approved and appropriate for the work being carried out
• Maintain regular communication and attend meetings with clients and their representatives to inform them of progress on the project
• Communicate with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and others involved in the project
• Resolve any unexpected problems that may occur during the project.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following competencies:
• Communication skills
• Document writing
• Detailed knowledge of Health and Safety legislation relevant to the management of construction site – particularly CDM 2015 Regulation
• Experience of EPC Project delivery in a highly regulated environment – preferably Nuclear
• Line management capability
• Production and review of Safe Systems of Work documentation
Qualifications & Training
• Safety management eg NEBOSH, IOSH
• CDM
• Radiological Protection
