Morson are recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer (Composites) based at an Aerospace Manufacturers in Burnley within their Composites department. This is a long-term opportunity.

Manufacturing Engineer – Composites – Job description

What will I be doing?
The role of Manufacturing Engineer will include the following (but not be limited to):

- Define complex composite manufacturing processes, ensuring consistency and compliance with the product design specifications.

- Design manufacturing processes which demonstrate the necessary capacity and capability performance required to meet/exceed customer demand.

- Create and validate standard operating procedures, work instruction sheets, quality control points and methods of inspection.

- Ensure that effective plant, equipment and tooling strategies are in place.

- Create routes, bill of materials, master layouts, tooling requests, data sheets, condition of manufacture definition and associated drawings.

- Plan, drive and coordinate the activities contributing to the industrial product validation (methods, Purchasing, engineering etc).

- Evaluate the risks of change and identify risks reduction actions via the use of a PFMEA.

Job Requirements – (Please note requires are desirable and open to discussion)

What do you need from me?
• Experience of complex composite manufacturing processes is desirable - particularly within an aerospace context.
• Engineering Degree (with elements of mechanical, manufacturing and materials), HND or equivalent experience.
• A medium/high level of competency within the CATIA v5 modelling application is required in order to interrogate existing 3-dimensional component information.
