About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has opened for an experienced Stress Engineer to join a leading engineering services provider supporting advanced aerospace programmes. You’ll play a key role in the structural analysis and validation of aircraft seating systems, ensuring safety, durability, and compliance with aerospace standards.
This is a hybrid role, offering flexibility with 3 days on-site in Cwmbran and 2 days working from home.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Performing finite element analysis (FEA) using Altair Hyperworks (Hypermesh, Optistruct, Hyperview) and MSC Nastran
Conducting linear and non-linear implicit analysis
Producing and reviewing aerospace-standard classical stress calculations
Validating FE models and simulation results
Preparing and presenting high-quality technical reports
Collaborating closely with Design, Certification, and Production teams
What We Are Looking For:
Strong experience with Altair Hyperworks and MSC Nastran
Proficiency in linear and non-linear FEA
Skilled in FE model validation and checking
Strong grasp of classical hand calculations
Desirable:
Experience with Radioss or other non-linear explicit solvers
Knowledge of fatigue analysis, damage tolerance, and occupant injury criteria
Background in the aerospace industry
Familiarity with FAR/CS 25-561, EASA Part 21J, and ARP 5526
