ECOM are pleased to be exclusively recruiting for a Senior Data Engineer here in Manchester.

The Role:

As a Data Engineer, you’ll design, develop, and optimise data pipelines on a Databricks-based platform, Symphony. You’ll collaborate with teams to create scalable data solutions, ensuring efficient data ingestion, transformation, and analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure using Databricks.

  • Collaborate with commercial teams to define data product requirements and visualisations.

  • Develop and optimise ETL/ELT processes for smooth data flow and accurate analysis.

  • Ensure adherence to data architecture principles and support the development of data dashboards.

  • Monitor and optimise data pipelines, resolving performance and quality issues.

  • Implement data governance practices and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.

  • Collaborate across teams to document workflows and stay updated on industry trends.

  • Lead engineering contributions to the delivery process, manage tasks, and update teams on progress.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer with expertise in Databricks, Hadoop/Spark.

  • Strong programming skills in Python, Scala, or SQL, with knowledge of CI/CD platforms.

  • Proficiency with distributed computing frameworks and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

  • Familiarity with data modeling, database systems, and SQL optimisation.

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

  • Knowledge of data governance, privacy, and security principles.

  • Experience in data visualization tools like Tableau, AWS QuickSight, Looker.

This is a permanent, full time position which is based out of our clients Manchester office which you’ll have to visit twice per week.
