Our client, a reputable Tier 1 main contractor, is seeking an experienced Freelance Geospatial Surveying Engineer to join their team on a landmark high-rise construction project in the heart of the City of London. With over 18 months remaining on this major scheme, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to one of the capital’s most high-profile developments.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Geospatial/Surveying Engineering
- Valid CSCS card
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Previous experience on high-rise construction projects
- Working knowledge of Bluebeam and Microsoft Office
General Responsibilities:
- Support the project team in maintaining site geospatial control
- Work collaboratively with package and project teams to ensure the accurate setting out and monitoring of construction activities
- Utilise surveying tools and CAD software to support ongoing works
- Report directly to the Chief Engineer
- Ensure project milestones and site layout accuracy are achieved in line with engineering and design specifications
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Topographical Surveys: Capture and visualise land features and contours
- Structural Monitoring: Conduct structural assessments and monitor movement or settlement
- Measured Building Surveys: Deliver 3D analyses of buildings or structures
- Utility Surveying: Locate and map underground services and pipelines
- Setting Out: Accurately map building designs onto the physical site
- Boundary Surveys: Support resolution of land ownership and jurisdictional issues
- Volume Calculations / Earthwork Profiling: Provide essential data to assist with construction planning and logistics
