Essential Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven experience in electrical power construction projects
  • Previous transportation work environment experience
  • Proven CDM Health, Safety and Environmental experience and knowledge
  • City and Guilds 2380 IEE Wiring Regulations, 18th Edition.
  • City and Guilds Certificates A, B & C in Electrical Installation Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation and/or servicing & maintenance work.
  • Experience in using MS applications, i.e. Word and Excel 
  • Full clean driving licence

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Understand and work to all necessary documentation for construction phase, including programme, method statements, risk assessments, work instructions and procedures from project start to completion.
  • Work from plans and technical drawings
  • Identify and control on site, materials, plant and equipment, company owned or on hire.
  • Ensure high safe working practices are maintained at all times
  • Ensure activities are carried out in an efficient and practical manner
  • Provide accurate and regular progress updates to Site Supervisor/Engineer and Project Manager to ensure that effective operations on site are carried out
  • Escalate and report issues to the Site Supervisor/Engineer or Project Manager as soon as such are apparent.
  • Ensure timely delivery of all project key deliverables and it’s required documentation
  • Monitor risks and issues that could affect or are affecting project delivery and escalate or facilitate their clearance.
  • Escalate and report to the Site Supervisor/Engineer or Project Manager any commercial issues to ensure that change, delays, disruption, completion, defects or other commercial aspects are recorded.
  • Undertake works commensurate with the individuals competency
  • Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical infrastructure or electrical/electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures using hand tools, power tools and other specialist equipment
  • Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment, ensuring conformance to all standards, building regulations and other specific Client electrical or safety regulations
  • Inspect, test and commission electrical systems with the ability to identify any hazards or malfunctions. Diagnose faults taking the necessary action to rectify any findings
  • Ensure activities do not cause unplanned disruption to operations of the electrical infrastructure, network, or other client systems
  • Perform duties such as maintaining records, files, preparing reports and attending progress meetings as and when required
