Job Description: Assistant Project Accountant 
Location: Samlesbury
Contract Type: 12 months, £21.50 per hour PAYE 
Workload: Hours: Full Time Hours ( Hybrid options once trained)

Role Overview:
We are looking for an Assistant Project Accountant to join the Orders to Receipts team within the Project Finance Capability Centre to assist with clearing a backlog of activities. The role will support projects within the Production, Development, and Organisation team, providing key financial support to address the backlog.

Key Responsibilities:

Investigate IT system lines and available options to ensure accurate recommendations are made and necessary actions are implemented.

Identify root causes of discrepancies and propose process improvements, sharing feedback to help set future standards.

Work with a variety of stakeholders across departments to ensure clear, effective communication and smooth workflow.

Deliver tasks on time, maintaining high standards and clear communication of progress. Address issues promptly and proactively.

Maintain a detailed plan to track activities, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to a high quality.

Report into a Team Leader for direction and support, but take responsibility for managing daily tasks independently.

Collaborate with other finance team members and functional stakeholders to complete the programme of work.

Interrogate IT systems for claims and receipts to identify any discrepancies and corrective actions needed.

Assist with the establishment of clear and robust processes for future work.

Key Skills & Requirements:

Clear Communication Skills: Must be able to communicate effectively and clearly with various teams and stakeholders across the organisation.

Finance Systems Exposure / Ability to Adapt to New Systems: Familiarity with financial systems and the ability to quickly adapt to new tools and platforms as needed.

Self-Starter: Ability to manage your own workload and be proactive in completing tasks without constant supervision.

Analytical Skills / Strong Problem-Solving: Strong analytical abilities to identify issues and propose practical solutions.

Building Strong Relationships: Ability to build positive working relationships with key contacts in the business, ensuring collaboration and smooth workflow.

Qualifications: Either have a relevant finance qualification (e.g., AAT, ACCA, CIMA) or be actively working towards obtaining one.
