Morson Talent is looking for a Component Fabricator to join a leading aerospace maintenance programme.
This is a hands-on, workshop-based role supporting complex aircraft build and repair activities. You’ll be using a range of manual and CNC machining tools to manufacture, modify, and repair aircraft parts to exacting aerospace standards, while working from approved maintenance instructions and engineering drawings.
Key Responsibilities:
Manufacture, modify, and repair aircraft parts and components
Use milling, drilling, cutting, reaming and shaping tools – both manual and CNC
Interpret technical drawings, patterns, and templates to fabricate parts
Assemble parts using mechanical fasteners to approved standards
Work to maintenance instructions and technical documentation
Carry out quality checks on completed assemblies
Understand and follow procedures under the organisation’s MOE
Apply human factors and safety principles in daily operations
Comply with COSHH, PPE, FOD and safe systems of work practices
Support accurate documentation and time booking for activities
Maintain clean, hazard-free work areas in hangars and workshops
Identify and escalate any product non-conformance issues
Follow tool control and calibration procedures
Operate in a high-paced, team-driven environment
Skills & Knowledge Required:
Skilled in fabrication and machining tasks including:
Drilling, reaming, grinding and milling
Assembly using aircraft-standard fasteners
Use of micrometers, calipers, and measuring tools
Familiarity with aircraft metals (aluminium, titanium, steel)
Understanding of workplace and tool safety standards
Awareness of human factors, product care and FOD control
Fault finding and problem-solving capability
Qualifications & Experience:
Completed a recognised Advanced Engineering Apprenticeship
NVQ Level 2 or equivalent (e.g. City & Guilds, EAL, Edexcel, etc.)
Time-served background from MRO, military or aerospace environment
Evidence of equivalent skills and certification may be considered
Additional Information:
Based on-site, working 5 days per week (Mon–Fri)
Core hours: 07:30–16:30 Mon–Thurs, 07:30–12:00 Fri
37 hours per week (excluding breaks)
Possibility of shift work depending on workload
Shift pattern may include Days (07:30–16:00) and Nights (16:00–02:00)
