Morson is delighted to have taken home the award for Best National Recruitment Agency at the annual National Online Recruitment Awards!

Morson.com NORA award win

The National Online Recruitment Awards are dedicated to the continual improvement and evolution of the candidate experience. Since 2000, they have recognised the focus of progressive employers, recruitment firms and job boards.

The NORAs views the recruitment sector from the perspective of the jobseeker and aim to shine a light on the very best examples of excellence in the industry. As the definitive measure of the standards now expected by candidates, they aim to make their finalists and winners to continually strive for more.

Our award for Best National Recruitment Agency recognises the very largest UK recruitment firms, which operate on a global scale and who have a considerable impact in the marketplace and ensure their online presence appeals to both candidates and clients alike. The judges looked to the large companies who have built a website that feels personal to jobseekers despite the scale of their business.

In 2021, the awarding body received 9,873 nominations for 489 different recruitment websites. The shortlisting judges then reduced the list down to the finalists for each category, the winners of which were announced at an awards ceremony at The Carisbrooke Hall in London on Wednesday 10th November.

Morson’s online presence underwent a complete redesign in line with a wider company rebrand in 2019/20 in order to provide the best possible experience for both clients and candidates, as Group Head of Marketing Rebekah Lee explains:

As an extension of our re-imagined brand platform and our commitment to ‘placing people first’ we redesigned Morson.com with the job seeker and user experience front of mind. Our purpose as a recruitment agency is to support people to find the right opportunity and we created a powerful web platform to digitally enable this.

Our response was particularly important during the pandemic. With economic and social uncertainty, it was our responsibility as a recruitment specialist to enable quick, intuitive job seeking as well as providing a destination for anything from legislation and furlough advice to mental health support, at a time when so many of us were relying on digital communications.

As an industry we’re on the cusp of digital reinvention and rethinking. Extra functionalities such as quick apply with LinkedIn, leading edge accessibility software, video job adverts, and options to directly chat with the recruiter – mark our preliminary steps into bridging the human-tech frontier, combining human interaction with digital enablement to increase application and customer satisfaction rates.

However, our website is much more than a job board, it’s a place where job seekers and candidates can access the latest advice, news, and insight. The website is just one part of our omnichannel marketing strategy which aims to add value to the candidate experience with every communication, be that through blog content, social, video or events. Because of the rich, purposeful multi-media we provide to candidates and clients alike, we’ve created a 25,000-strong active candidate community and a social network of over 250,000 who engage with us every week.

Morson’s website has also benefitted from accessibility software Recite Me over the past few years. Recite Me is a cloud-based web accessibility solution that allows us to customise our website to offer a suite of accessibility tools, including solutions for visitors with dyslexia, visual impairment and learning difficulties. Our mission is to ensure our online recruitment process is accessible to everyone and that there are no barriers in place to hold talented people back.

In August 2021 alone, almost 800 web pages on www.morson.com were viewed using the Recite Me toolbar, helping 130 unique users across an average of 6 pages viewed per session (the industry average is 2.8 pages per session) across both desktop and mobile. Over the past few years, we’ve helped thousands of candidates with disabilities find work, proving there is no barrier to success when looking for a role with us.

The award win follows a successful period with awards for the Morson Group. In September, Morson’s managed service solution took home the award for Outstanding Outsourced Recruitment Organisations at the Recruiter Awards, the UK’s largest event for the entire recruitment community which recognises both agencies and in-house recruiters.

In August, Morson Canada won the Best of Staffing Client and Talent Awards for providing superior service to both clients and candidates. Less than 2% of US and Canadian staffing agencies win this award, which is based on the ratings of clients and candidates themselves. On average, clients of winning agencies are twice as likely to be completely satisfied and candidates who have been placed by winning agencies are twice as likely to be completely satisfied with the services provided compared to those working with non-winning agencies. Morson Canada received satisfaction scores of 9 or 10 out of 10 from 72.3% of their placed job candidates, significantly higher than the industry’s average of 40%. Morson Canada also received a Net Promoter® Score of 62.5% from their clients, significantly higher than the industry’s average of 28% in 2020.
