Job Description Summary:
Our client is based in Kirkbymoorside, North Yorkshire, where it produces complex composite structures that are predominantly used to manufacture vital parts on ships, submarines and aircraft. Reporting to the Operations Manager the main purposes of the role are to both support the preparation and implementation of a new ERP system: Industrial & Financial Systems (IFS) as well as oversee the on-site Stores team. In addition to this the post holder will put in to practice their extensive planning knowledge to support the on-going planning activities of a busy manufacturing site.
The main aspects of the role will include:-
- support the operations team and to provide additional resource with the implementation of IFS as the planning aspect is fundamental to its success
- Support and advise on best practises for the implementation of the new IFS ERP
- With the Production Managers monitor and manage the efficiency and utilisation of available plant hours incorporating planned maintenance cycles
- Overseeing the on-site Stores team who deal with the full spectrum of stores/logistics issues on a day-to-day basis, goods inwards, including dealing with incoming materials, handling all aspects of shipping, arranging transport for materials etc
- Responsible for material demand planning and stock control
- Contribute to the capacity planning for the organisation and ensuring that it is integrated within the existing ERP system
- Monitor key manufacturing processes and data to identify capacity constraints and trends.
- Mentor staff where appropriate
- Perform any reasonable task as requested by the Line Manager
Qualifications:
- Experience of ERP implementation ESSENTIAL (any prior working knowledge of Max / IFS would be hugely beneficial)
- Extensive experience within a factory planning role, preferably within a composite manufacturing or aerospace/ defence environment
- Prior experience of supervising others and overseeing others workload
- Degree (engineering or business) level preferred, although professional Six Sigma or lean qualifications or equivalent accepted.
- Have good working knowledge of MS Office based applications
- Confident individual with the ability to create and foster close working relationships
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written to be able to present reports and presentations
- To be self-motivated with the ability to produce accurate work and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent analytical skills
