Scottish Power Energy Networks are looking for an IT Application Consultant/Technical Lead to join their MHHS programme on a contract basis.
Role: IT Application Consultant/Technical Lead
Business: Scottish Power Energy Networks
Location: St Vincent Street Glasgow/hybrid style working
Duration: 12 month initial contract with scope for extension
Rate: Inside IR35, Umbrella and PAYE options available
Key Duties:
- Attend Programme calls, analyse technical and functional industry programme and internal documentation, identify requirements, tasks, gaps and challenges, make plans and technical decisions.
- Liaise with a wide range of stakeholders within the industry and SPEN to meet Industry deadlines in time and quality.
- Be the Programme Managers right hand on any technical matter and work very closely with Security Lead and IT Architect.
- Hands on approach and problem solving, trouble shooting calls with multiple providers.
- Create and maintain the models, templates and frameworks that will be used by the rest of the team in the implementation of the business requirements.
- Be responsible for gathering the technical knowledge and ensure it is continuously documented, stored and transferred to SPEN personnel.
- Working in a hybrid of waterfall and agile models.
Criteria
- Progressive experience in software engineering/enterprise architecture/technology leadership across multiple products, systems and/or platforms.
- Experience working in Application solutions design delivering IT solutions.
- Experience in Enterprise applications, database, distributed computing, virtualization and/or application technology.
- Waterfall and Agile methodology experience
- Experience in delivering industrial platforms or horizontal software middleware.
- Knowledge of technologies and common Packaged Platform/Systems.
- Highly motivated individual, good team player, used to work with big and diverse teams in a very demanding environment and with sound leadership skills.
