Lifecycle Material Manager

Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate efforts across departments to maximize the effectiveness, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of assigned materiel.
- Oversee materiel support activities throughout the four distinct stages of the managerial life cycle.
- Manage ongoing maintenance requirements for mechanical and avionics systems and equipment, including spares, test equipment, technical publications, and airworthiness compliance.
- Apply Life Cycle Management principles to equipment/systems support activities.
- Serve as a technical expert for the equipment/systems under your purview.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of materiel acquisition and support functions.
- Foster liaison with relevant staff members, particularly those responsible for supply and procurement.
- Stay informed about the capability and capacity of support facilities, including workshops, contractors, and government facilities.
- Keep abreast of advancements in relevant areas of responsibility.
- Experience in handling and disposing of “controlled goods” or “controlled technology.”
- Take corrective actions to realign project performance with targets.
- Provide informed advice to management on pertinent issues.
- Offer Life Cycle Management support to both internal and external customers.
- Oversee and respond to requests for engineering support from internal or external stakeholders.
- Participate in departmental administrative activities and contribute to the development of new practices and procedures.
- Ensure adherence to Human Resources, safety, and security policies and procedures within the workplace.
- Fulfill any additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Secondary school degree or diploma in a related field OR
- Completion of an accredited technologist level program in electronics or aircraft systems OR
- Equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years’ recent experience (within the last 10 years) working on modern, complex, highly integrated aircraft mechanical and electronic equipment and systems in one or more of the following areas:
- Flight guidance and control systems
- Radar systems
- Secure network systems
- Electronic communication systems
- Electro-optical or infrared systems
- Simulators and trainers
- Communications, radar, navigation, and related systems
- Mechanical systems such as Environmental Control Systems, Auxiliary Power Units, Powerplant systems, and/or hydraulic systems
- Equipment Life Cycle Management (LCM)
- ADAM and/or DRMIS
- Canadian Forces Supply System
- Technical investigations
