Salary: 322 p/d

About the Role:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-driven Quantity Surveyor to join our team on a high-profile infrastructure project in Devonport. The role involves full-time, on-site presence (5 days per week) and supports the commercial management of civil engineering works within a secure and highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the commercial performance of the project from start to finish.

• Prepare accurate cost estimates, tender documentation, and budgets.

• Manage procurement of subcontractor and supplier packages.

• Monitor project expenditure, handle valuations, variations, and interim payments.

• Negotiate contracts and manage contractual relationships.

• Ensure adherence to NEC3/NEC4/JCT contract requirements.

• Support forecasting, cash flow, and change control processes.

• Liaise with clients, contractors, and site teams to align on project delivery.

Requirements:

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent professional experience.

• Experience on civil engineering, infrastructure, or defence projects.

• Sound understanding of NEC and/or JCT forms of contract.

• Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

• Proficient in Excel and commercial systems (e.g., CEMAR, CostX).

• Must be willing and able to be on site in Devonport 5 days a week.

• Eligible for (or holds) security clearance, depending on project requirements.

Desirable:

• Chartered (or working towards) status with RICS/CIOB.

• Previous experience working on MOD or high-security infrastructure projects.
