Scottish Power Renewables are looking for a Site Quality Manager to join their East Anglia Three project based in Lowestoft.

Position: Site Quality Manager
Business: Scottish Power Renewables - EA3
Duration: 12 Month initial contract with renewal in line with the project
Working Location: Lowestoft site/hybrid style working 
Rate: Inside IR35, Umbrella and PAYE options available
Working Pattern: Full-time (5 days / week)

Main Purpose of Job
Overall responsibility for the quality activities and inspections performed at Project construction site on Project assets. Gathering and recording of all punches/snags from all the different packages, those identified during walk-downs and repairs or works.

Reporting to the Project Quality Manager and the Site Construction Manager verifying that all activities are appropriately performed and recorded with required quality and as per Employer’s and Project’s procedures.

Responsible for maintaining the snag management tool and punctual report of progress of snagging works as per Project procedures.

Performing Offshore walk-down inspections and ensure all deviations are appropriately documented and closed based on thorough evidence.

As part of the Project Quality organization, the Construction Site Quality Manager will support the Project by ensuring the compliance with the Project quality specifications overall.

Key Tasks

  • Responsible for the compliance with the Project Quality Management System (PQMS) in relation to the construction quality matters.
  • Provide quality training to project personnel to promote the requirements and benefits of the PQMS and of the snag management software.
  • Participate in walk-down inspections with suppliers and/or other packages. Populating and maintaining the project snag register.
  • Review the results of the inspections that the Contractors and the Employer perform.
  • Propose changes in the inspections, controls and testing based on the progress of the work.
  • Ensuring the quality of deliverables, materials/products and services during the construction phase.
  • Lead and coordinate offshore quality inspectors, attending relevant project weekly and monthly meetings.
  • Coordination of inspections at different locations.
  • Provide quality control of supplies and contractors, including reviewing technical specifications and tenders.
  • Liaise with the package verification body (as applicable), attending all verification inspections and supporting with any Technical Queries related to quality.
  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of the Project Quality Management Systems.
  • Implement, promote and measure performance to achieve quality goals on the project. Creating a quality culture throughout the project team and other stakeholders.
  • Assist with embedding a consistent and controlled approach to any works and achieving acceptable level of quality performance across the project team and Contractors.
  • Ensure fundamental project reference documents are in place, monitored, updated and communicated on a regular basis e.g. Project Quality Plan.
  • Work effectively across multi-disciplinary teams to promote improvements.
  • Define, based on the work to be done on the Project, the suppliers or subcontractors with whom a quality kick off meeting, will be necessary.
  • Update, create or facilitate the creation of standard quality specifications to be issued to suppliers to ensure Project, regulatory or other requirements are being met.
  • Inspect and audit internal and external parties as required.
  • Work in line with the company methodology for equipment categorisation and inspection regimes.
  • Work closely with Document Control to establish, maintain and improve document/record keeping. Ensure that the communications with the suppliers are in accordance with the document control methodologies, maintaining a comprehensive traceability.
  • Ensure that the quality documentation and quality reports are produced, verified or reviewed by competent personnel.
  • Ensure that the lessons learned are effectively captured and communicated during the project to be implemented in future projects.

Key Criteria
Essential

  • Experience in Quality Assurance and Quality Control for onshore / offshore energy generation projects, preferably specific to construction/installation.
  • Engineering degree qualified or equivalent technical qualifications / experience.
  • Strong experience managing quality of construction/installation.
  • Experience in managing international and remote teams.
  • Flexibility to travel frequently in UK and overseas.
  • Flexibility in working hours to meet the needs of the job.
  • Flexibility to work offshore if required.
  • Full GWO and offshore medical certificate.
  • Quality Auditor certificate.

Desirable

  • Technical experience in electrical and mechanical works.
  • Coating experience.
  • Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy
  • Provision of quality management support and coaching.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to influence at various levels of an organisation.
  • Proven significant experience of IT applications (word, excel, document management systems).
  • Proven significant experience of working with multi-disciplinary Contractors.
  • Proven experience of implementing or working to an inspection regime of goods/equipment production.
  • Good understanding of document control/management procedures.
