Role Overview:
The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing projects within the Metrolink network, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to safety standards, and effective stakeholder management. The ideal candidate will have a background in heavy rail/light rail with expertise in civil, electrical, and mechanical disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:

• Project Delivery: Direct and personally oversee the full lifecycle of projects, from initiation to completion, ensuring objectives are met within scope, budget, and schedule constraints.
• CDM 2015 Compliance: Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and ensure project activities comply with legal requirements.
• Stakeholder Management: Develop and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, suppliers, and local communities, to ensure project success and minimize conflicts.
• Health and Safety: Uphold effective health and safety principles throughout project delivery, implementing measures to mitigate risks and ensure the well-being of all project stakeholders.
• Resource Management: Efficiently allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to optimize project outcomes and minimize costs.
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, proactively addressing challenges to prevent project delays or disruptions.
• Reporting and Documentation: Prepare comprehensive project reports, documentation, and progress updates for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in direct and personal project delivery and management, preferably within heavy rail/light rail environments.
• Strong understanding and practical experience working within the framework of CDM 2015.
• Proven track record in stakeholder management, with the ability to effectively engage and communicate with diverse stakeholders.
• Sound knowledge and application of health and safety principles in project delivery, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Availability for an immediate start is highly desirable, with a maximum notice period of 1-2 months.

• Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities, with the capacity to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, capable of navigating challenges and making timely, informed decisions.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy in project execution and documentation.
• Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred. Relevant professional certifications (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP) would be advantageous.
