Senior Training Needs Analyst

Job Role:

The Principal Engineer (Training Services) provides subject matter technical expertise for the conduct of training analysis for the Royal Navy submarine service and company business units.  Activities will be undertaken working as part of a team, with the support and guidance of the Engineer Manager (Training Services).  The duties of the role will require initiative and skill in discharging the training tasks whilst offering guidance in a positive manner utilising professional training skillsets to produce consistent, quality and coherent training outputs. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Training Needs Analysis (TNA) iaw the Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) Quality Management System (QMS) (JSP) 822
  • Assist in the review and assessment of In-Service and Build changes in relation to submarine training.
  • Coach/Mentor junior members of staff to deliver TNA iaw the DSAT QMS (JSP) 822

Key Skills and Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Expert knowledge of DSAT compliant training deliverable outputs
  • Ability to analyse and extract relevant data from technical documents
  • Experience in questioning techniques and skills.
  • Experienced in communication (verbal and written).
  • Experience in report/document writing.
  • Good relationship management with peers and customers.
  • Completion of DSAT (or equivalent) training course in TNA (or equivalent demonstrable experience).

Desirable:

  • Completion of DSAT (or equivalent) training course in Training Design.
  • Broad understanding of the Royal Navy Submarine Service.
  • Experience in Royal Naval Submarine Service training.
