- Location: Remote working – initially 3 days in Chorley/Camberley office for first 2 weeks training
Our client is a leading engineering company who specialise in Asset Management within Traffic/Highways.
They currently require a Materials Planner to join their business and ensure the end-to-end management of spares ordering and supplier management for their Traffic Management business.
This is a critical area of the maintenance organisation to enable the business to meet the customer demands for Traffic Management.
Key Deliverables
- Support with resolving supplier payment queries
- Support investigations of supplier performance failures and work with SQA team to find resolutions
- Responsible for identification of continuous improvement opportunities
- Support the creation and production of procurement reports and departmental metrics
Responsibilities
- Management of data to assess Supplier delivery performance.
- On-going maintenance of MRP in line with materials replenishment strategy.
- Management of project demands and forecasting and OTIF.
- Support appropriate business reviews based upon Supplier Classification (Key suppliers) Pan Telent.
- Every member of Central Procurement to complete or participate in a min. of one Continuous Improvement project - as logged into central CI Tracker.
- Correct supply chain information implemented into Oracle
- Compliance to internal, external & customer audit.
- Achieve adherence to supplier on-boarding process.
- Responsible for management of internal and external stakeholders
- Support delivery of corporate and functional strategic priorities
Qualifications / Skill Requirements
Experience in a procurement, supply chain or commercial environment
- Experience in Material management/stock control, supply chain, stock management within a manufacturing environment
- Strong interpersonal, organisational and communication skills
- Understanding of procurement principles, practices and the value that Procurement can bring
- A high attention to detail and ability to achieve high levels of data accuracy
- Confidence and ability to handle large volumes of data from different sources
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to demonstrate exceptional stakeholder management approach and skills
- Effective prioritisation of workload
- Experience of Microsoft Office 365 products especially MS Excel
- SAP/Oracle experience (desirable)
