Senoir/Associate Architect and Urban Designer

I currently have the pleasure of working with a client who holds more than six decades experience at the forefront of designing a diverse array of spaces, from intimate community parks to sprawling city districts across the UK and internationally.

They are currently seeking a Senior or Associate level Architect / Urban Designer to join their Leeds studio. The chosen candidate will serve as a representative of the Practice, supporting Partners with local office operations, leading and coordinating large-scale projects, expanding the client base, and overseeing a team of dedicated placemaking specialists.

They cultivate a collaborative and supportive atmosphere that nurtures innovative design approaches focused on intelligence, responsibility, and foresight. Their objective is to fashion exceptional spaces that resonate with individual stories and serve as the canvas for human experiences to unfold.

Champions in creative freedom in design, they are seeking individuals with both passion and leadership qualities to drive meaningful change. The company offers a distinctive opportunity for independent and proven candidates to contribute to shaping their urban design and master planning portfolio on a regional and international scale. Employees can expect autonomy, professional development, and a supportive work environment that includes an array of benefits such as flexible and remote working options, paid professional memberships, and more.

What is expected:

  • A minimum of 10 years of professional experience.
  • Riba Part 3 Architect Qualification / ARB registration and possibly CMLI.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and deliver projects.
  • Strong design and design leadership skills in urban design, master planning, and smaller scale architecture projects.
  • Effective communication with external consultants and clients to foster ongoing business development.
  • Oversight and guidance on staff progress and performance.
  • Excellent project management abilities, coupled with strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Understanding of project financials, including resource management, budgeting, and cost control.

What you can expect:

  • Exciting project opportunities in the UK and abroad.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Professional growth and development opportunities.
  • Flexibility in working hours to promote a healthy work-life balance.
  • Hybrid working model, allowing for a blend of remote and office-based work.
  • Coverage of paid professional membership fees.
  • Healthcare assistance support and membership perks.

As we strive to find the best fit for this position, we are seeking individuals with a minimum level of experience, training, and qualification. But we’ll let you in on a secret: there’s no such thing as the ‘perfect’ candidate. If you feel you meet, or know someone that meets, 75% of the requirements for this role, we would love to hear from you!
