Senior Quantity Surveyor
Key Responsibilities
Commercial
Deliver accurate, timely cost and value reporting at project and business unit level to support Group reporting
Provide accurate cash flow forecasts
Manage project costs and produce reliable forecasts
Prepare and maintain monthly CVRs, cost plans, and commercial plans
Submit upstream applications for payment and manage cash flow
Procure subcontractors, negotiate terms, and maintain financial records
Prepare applications for payment through to final account
Liaise with clients, client representatives, and third parties on commercial matters (e.g., variations, claims, additional payments)
Collaborate with the project team to forecast expenditure and recovery in line with business expectations
Promote cost management best practices and efficiencies to site teams
Identify and capitalise on commercial opportunities
Protect the business from commercial risks
Contracts
Manage contracts and subcontracts effectively, primarily under IChemE and NEC forms
Ensure contracts align with corporate governance and manage risks/opportunities
Procure subcontract works and manage subcontracts post-award
Ensure supply chain partners operate under correct terms and conditions
Build and maintain strong relationships with the supply chain
Processes
Support internal commercial processes, ensuring timely delivery and compliance
Drive improvements in processes and procedures

Accurate forecasting and cost data analysis
Effective commercial risk management and opportunity realisation
Achieve profit targets in line with business expectations
Meet all deadlines set by the monthly commercial calendar
Produce high-quality commercial documentation

About You
Essential
Experience in the construction industry
Familiar with IChemE and NEC contracts; understanding of construction law
Proven experience in commercial management and subcontract procurement, including chairing meetings and managing cost cycles
Strong experience in monthly forecasting and cost analysis
Excellent communication, numerical, and IT skills (proficient in Microsoft Office)
Strong organisational and time management abilities
Desirable
Additional qualifications in quantity surveying or construction management
Experience working on large-scale infrastructure or civil engineering projects
