Title: Electrical Technician
Type: Temp - Perm (6 months contract)
Location: Edinburgh
Role Objective:
1. Support the North Area Operations team through resolution of hazards, on site issues and risks, emergency situations and technical support in the Scottish area
2. Support the North Area Operations team through resolution of electrical on site issues and planned preventive maintenance as well as emergency situations and technical support in the Scottish area
3. Own hazspot process for the Scottish Area ensuring all hazards raised are recorded, developed into a programme and resolved in reasonable timescales, through utilisation of team resource and engagement, where appropriate, of sub-contractors to quote for and deliver work
4. Provide recommendations and quotes to the customer (the Coal Authority) for improvement works required to the site to improve performance, health and safety and efficiency of schemes
5. Produce appropriate CDM and RAMs documentation for any sub-contractor works in Scottish Area
6. Supervise Operators and sub-contractor working on the contract in the Scottish North ensuring delivery of a service to time, cost and quality requirements
7. Identify improvement opportunities within the area, and take ownership to drive through changes requirement to improve service and quality
Key Accountabilities:
The key duties of the role are:
• Electrical maintenance and repairs
• Supervise operators working on the contract in Scotland.
• Own and administer the hazspot reporting process for Scotland
• Deliver site improvements through use of wider team and sub-contractors
• Manage sub-contractor relationships in area and supervise works on site ensuring compliance with all documentation
• Produce required documentation for any additional works undertaken on site
• Work closely with SHE Advisor to implement initiatives, improve compliance and reduce risk
Qualifications:
Essential:
Electrical apprenticeship or other recognised qualification.
GCSE C grade or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English
IOSH or NEBOSH H&S qualification
