We are recruiting a Seat Design & Test Engineer for one of our automotive clients based in Sunderland.
You will be working for a globally recognised automotive company. This is a long-term contract role. The contract is on an ongoing basis a may run for several years.

Key Responsibilities of the Seat Design & Test Engineer:

• Global Seat Design and development at part / module level
• Responsible for the life cycle management of clients European Seats including cost reduction, quality market improvement and new product development projects.
• Lead the industrialisation activities of new Seating systems into client’s Manufacturing Plant.
• Supplier day to day management
• Managing and reporting test validation
• Managing and reporting cost performance
• Managing and reporting part quality / reliability
• Managing and reporting adoption timing and delivery
• Secure industry leading customer satisfaction
• Competitor benchmark and trend analysis
• Supporting global strategies with European customer voice
• Work within a cross functional global team
• Achieve yearly cost reduction target (piece price / VT, cost reduction)
• Achieve quality target (NEVQS, warranty)
• Achieve project KPI’s (Key performance indicators)
• On time design change release / delivery

Qualifications & Experience for the Seat Design & Test Engineer:

• Design / engineering qualification
• CAD interrogation
• Cost analysis skills related to automotive interior / seat parts.
• Time management skill
• Supplier management experience
• Ability to prioritise and multitask between multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to travel within client’s regional scope to include UK, Europe.
• Previous automotive design and development experience
• Prior knowledge of Seating system or Interior/Exterior Trim parts or
• Prior knowledge of manufacturing processes
• Valid driving licence and able to travel globally.

Hours & Pay for the Seat Design & Test Engineer:

• Monday to Friday
• 39 hours per week
• £30.78p/h
