We are recruiting a Vehicle Cost Analyst for one of our automotive clients based in Cranfield.
You will be working for a globally recognised automotive company. This is a long-term contract role. The contract is on an ongoing basis a may run for several years.

Key Responsibilities of the Vehicle Cost Analyst:

The Cost Reduction Promotion and Strategy function is in charge of planning and reporting the cost of new vehicles during development, including piece cost, average model cost and tooling.
The responsibilities include:
• Prepare and agree detailed activity plans, then conduct the activity.
• Identify and gather the required information from both local and global sources.
• Prepare and publish cost reports daily, weekly and in line with project milestones.
• Liaise with engineers, buyers, and manufacturing plants.
• Validate the quality and completeness of data.
• Highlight irregularities and gaps in the data and identify the required remedial action.
• Identify and escalate problems appropriately.
• Periodic remote working may be required in-line with Co. policy.
• Infrequent national and international travel to may be required.
• Become an expert user for client’s Development Cost Management System & related internal systems.
• Become knowledgeable in related systems & processes e.g. parts bill of material management and the overall vehicle project schedules.
• Deliver training to explain the expectations of each stakeholders’ role in the activity plans.
• System and process improvement to maintain best practice operation.
• Conduct periodic benchmarking with other regions to find improvements.

Qualifications & Experience for the Vehicle Cost Analyst:

• A degree level of education, however 2 or more years of relevant experience in the below ar-eas are expected.
• Experience of project management & leading cross functional teams
• Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with members from a multi-regional background
• Innovative and flexible “can do” attitude with self-motivation to plan and action activities.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to identify and develop process improvement opportunities.
• PC skills (Must have skills):
Excel, (Intermediate, graphs, pivot tables, database connections)
MS Office PowerPoint, Outlook, Word (Intermediate proficiency)
Additional beneficial skills:
Knowledge of power query (Excel)
Tableau (some experience beneficial)
An understanding of vehicle components, systems and the vehicle development processes is desirable but not essential.

Hours & Pay for the Vehicle Cost Analyst:

• Monday to Friday
• 39 hours per week
• £27.00p/h
