Role Overview:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Embedded Software Specialist to lead and develop multidisciplinary teams, ensuring effective allocation of team members to meet our customers project timelines and quality standards. The successful candidate will provide mentorship and technical leadership, driving growth and expertise in DO-178B/C practices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead, manage, and develop multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality embedded software solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams within Morson Projects and with customers to ensure project delivery within schedule and budget constraints.
• Develop and oversee Design and/or Verification and Validation strategies, processes, and documentation to comply with DO-178B/C objectives and lifecycle data requirements.
• Implement automated and manual testing strategies to ensure robust software validation.
• Ensure traceability of all software requirements through design, implementation, and testing phases.
• Contribute to the development of toolset qualification and software timing requirements.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
• Strong technical background in aerospace or safety-critical systems domains such as nuclear or defence.
• Proven leadership and organisational skills.
• Extensive experience working to high DAL levels of DO-178x (or similar).
• Proficiency with toolsets such as OOD, ADA, C++, Python, MBSE, Agile methodologies, Jira, Configuration Management, DOORS, Kanban, Linux, VXWorks.
• Experience in all phases of a high-integrity software development lifecycle, including architecture, design, various types of testing (including HSIT), certification, and CPD.
• Experience with toolset qualification and software timing requirements is advantageous.
• Willingness to spend time on customer sites, especially during joint definition phases and design reviews.
