Morson is currently recruiting an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer for our aerospace and defence client in Templecombe.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects supporting both legacy and next-generation technology. The ideal candidate will bring strong robotic programming knowledge—especially in automated production lines—and ideally have experience with KUKA robotics or similar industrial robotic systems. Understanding of production automation and hands-on programming capabilities is essential.
You’ll be a key player in defining and implementing industrial strategies, supporting new product introduction, and optimising manufacturing processes and tooling across the site. This role combines shop floor support with strategic input across engineering, procurement, and industrial design teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive manufacturability reviews and product readiness for both legacy and new systems.
Analyse and improve Product Defining Data (PDD) throughout the product lifecycle.
Run Production Readiness Reviews (PRRs) and assess Manufacturing Readiness Levels (MRLs).
Define and optimise layouts, workflows, tooling, and inspection strategies.
Act as a subject matter expert to support the procurement team in supplier readiness.
Contribute to capital investment planning with cost-benefit and ROI analysis.
Participate in MRBs and CCBs to manage product failures and configuration changes.
Develop and implement test procedures for manufacturing equipment and processes.
Support documentation accuracy in ERP systems and provide technical training.
What we’re looking for:
Proven experience in a manufacturing engineering role within aerospace, defence, or similar industries.
Strong understanding of robotic automation and industrial programming (KUKA experience preferred).
Knowledge of automated production environments and manufacturing readiness principles.
Hands-on approach with a continuous improvement mindset and commitment to quality.
Familiar with ERP systems, PRRs, MRLs, and DFx methodologies.
Comfortable working in a cross-functional, technically complex environment.
Ready to bring your expertise to a forward-thinking team and contribute to innovative defence solutions?
