Morson Talent are recruiting a Maintenance Engineer for our defence client based in Stevenage.

Rate - £35.00 UMB PER HOUR / £26.76 + 3.89 Holiday Pay PER HOUR

Shift - 7am -15.36 Monday-Thursday, 7am - 11:36 Friday

12-Month Contract

Qualifications Required - Electrical Apprenticeship + L3 competency-based qualification (e.g. NVQ or HNC Electrical Manufacturing)

Role responsibilities

We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join our Calibration & Maintenance Team. The main aspects of the role are supporting operations team’s activities day to day and conducting repairs on process equipment and environmental stress screening facilities using drawings, circuit diagrams, schematics, user manuals, etc. You will need to have a good understanding of planned preventative maintenance (PPM). No day is the same and the work is extremely varied, interesting and challenging.

Experience specifically required:

  • Preventative Maintenance experience required
  • Would suit candidates with Conveyor belt maintenance manufacturing experience from any industry – Food, Retail, Pharma, Cars, cosmetics, agriculture etc.
  • Provide support to operators in executing preventative maintenance tasks on process equipment.
  • Undertake reactive maintenance down to component level on electronic manufacturing machinery.
  • Support day-to-day operations with faults on extraction units, motors, electrical safety testing and electrical panels.
  • Collaborate with teams to develop maintenance schedules and protocols.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain a safe working environment through safety inspections.
  • IET Wiring Regulations also known as BS 7671 18th Edition desirable.
  • IET Code of Practice for In-Service inspection & Testing of Electrical Equipment desirable.

Will involve working in an autonomous capacity, maintaining process, ESD and extraction/monitoring equipment, also diagnosing faults, repairing equipment and ensuring spares packages for the equipment are updated to ensure minimal downtime as well as managing externally held maintenance and breakdown contracts.

The role is subject to full Security Clearance (SC)
