Outfit Designer
• Ship build experience, Naval experience preferable
• Someone who is aware of outfit – someone who has that experience, not HVAC, pipers etc
• Comfortable working in an environment where they need to engage with internal and external stakeholders
Process and change
Compartment design reviews
Basic procurement packages
Updating Windchill PLM with mature parts, systems, occurrences and compartment data to ensure it correctly presents the baseline design
Preparing technical equipment specifications develop designs in line with all specifications and standards and co-ordinate with suppliers to ensure delivery to the agreed specification
Supporting Design Reviews and Zonal Reviews
Developing Ship design specifications under guidance and carry out Engineering Design activities in line with specifications and all quality and technical standards, examples being development of outfit packages and General Arrangements
Participating fully in developing, maintaining and modifying Outfit processes and procedures in assigned areas in response to technical developments and operational need
Co-ordinating with systems engineers and detail designers on the integration of Outfit systems
Liaising with customers and/or suppliers in assigned areas on engineering matters
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications
• Work general Microsoft packages
• Experience working in 3D model (view only)
• Being in review spaces – taking questions and presenting. Need to be able to ask questions and work independently
• Possesses good knowledge of most aspects within current discipline
• Able to perform analysis using recognised analytical tools and to make sound judgements
