Supplier Project Manager

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager to join the team with our prestigious client at their site in Cambridge, this is an outside IR35 role.

Job Description

Purpose of the position
Project Manage specific supply chain topics for dedicated projects.

Interface with suppliers, commodity managers, supply chain and quality teams to achieve best cost, timing and quality performance.

Accountability

Responsibilities:

Accountable for implementing commercial procurement strategies for project
In charge of specific program material cost and on time delivery performance
Accountable for ordering parts per lead times and project timing requirements
Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities for program
Responsible for tracking suppliers performances and drive required risk mitigation plans
Propose make versus buy options to improve program performance
Manage key project stakeholders to ensure alignment on objectives and solutions

Tasks:

Track and escalate Bill of Material [BOM] cost deviations
Lead Material Requirement Planning [MRP] activities with the supply chain team to ensure timely delivery of goods
Monitor On time Delivery [OTD] performance for key suppliers and support specific performance management plans with problematic suppliers
Liaise with commodity managers, supply chain, quality, Project manager and engineering teams to ensure alignment on proposed solutions or suggested improvements
Create and track cost improvements plans

Education:
Applicable degree in Supply chain Management, Engineering or Business equivalent
Relevant project management or commercial experiences

Experience:

3 to 5 years of supplier management/interaction
3 to 5 years leading engineering projects
Experience in leading project with more £300k annual spend value

Recognising the restricted nature of the work  there is a requirement for the candidate to be eligible to obtain Security Clearance for this role.
