Morson have a long standing relationship with leonardo in the provision of both manpower, multimedia and training capability. Some of the latest multimedia and training projects are:

Computer Based Training (CBT) Framework Development

We created a dynamic eLearning Framework allowing AgustaWestland (AW) to build and deliver their own CBT. The Framework supports multi-platform use and is SCORM compliant, so can be loaded and tracked via an LMS. The development also included the creation of a core set of design templates for use across their courseware and, in addition to this, the ability for them to dynamically add content directly from word or PowerPoint storyboards to the Framework, which reduced the need for skilled developers to be involved, improved consistency across the CBT training and reduced errors in the development process. The Framework is now being used as the standard interface for AW CBT.

AW101 NAWSARH | CBT and ILT Delivery

We were contracted to support the design, development and delivery of AW NAWSARH CBT and ILT (Instructor-Led Training) Programme, which is designed to train Avionic Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Systems Engineers and Pilots on the AW101 aircraft. This consisted of:

  • Assisting AW in the initial proposal, technical specification and design work
  • Collection of CATIA data and creation of highly-technical and detailed 3D models of the aircraft and all systems
  • Creation of storyboards for CBT
  • Development of multimedia assets (interactive assets, questions, images etc.) based on the approved storyboards
  • Utilising the Framework Morson had developed previously (see above) to package and deliver the CBT
  • Development of multimedia assets to support the ILT programme (based on multimedia requests from the AW Training Academy)
  • Support technical meetings with both AW and the customer (Norway)
  • Support Quality Assurance and Configuration Control activities
  • Final CBT delivery to the customer via their LMS

Case Study | Class Publishing

We worked with a Class Publishing in Bridgewater in order to produce an online training course to support the release of their book ‘Ambulance Care Essentials’.

Ambulance Care Essentials is used by various NHS Trusts to form part of the training material for Ambulance Paramedics and the basis for a Level 3 diploma in Clinical Healthcare Support – Emergency Care Assistant.

The diploma is achieved through ‘competency-based assessment’, which previously involved classroom teaching and assessments, coupled with practical assessments and or field-based recognition.

Through our work with Class and the NHS Trusts, we were able to deliver this all through an online LMS (Learning Management System). The online course follows the structure of the material in the book and learner competency is assessed through a series of assessments. In addition to this, Learners are able to upload evidence of any items that cannot be completed through online assessments (e.g. practical items), which can be assessed for approval by the tutor allocated to them.

We have designed a number of different sites for each of the NHS trusts, who are able to customised the structure and materials in order to suit their training needs. Tutors can be assigned to provide interaction with students through forums and evidence log reviews.

The online grading and reporting system also allows the NHS Trust to track all of the students that have taken the training – how far through the course they are, what grade they achieved, even down to which questions they answered correctly and/or incorrectly.
