And right now, we’re looking for a Senior Compliance Analyst. Based at our Stoke Poges site location, you’ll be Reporting directly to the Corporate Compliance Manager you will be responsible for ensuring that key Group-wide business and corporate compliance risks are effectively identified, appropriate controls are implemented and provide assurance of their effective operation. Specifically to:
- Develop, implement and ensure proper operation of appropriate corporate compliance policies, processes and procedures which comply with all necessary regulations and support the needs of the Group’s internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure that developments in the legal and regulatory framework are incorporated into the Group-wide processes and procedures such that they meet latest requirements and thus minimise risk to the Group and all other relevant stakeholders.
What will your day look like?
• Support the Corporate Compliance Manager and General Counsel in creating and reviewing existing compliance policies/procedures, recommending enhancements to ensure an efficient and effective use of resources enhance documentation on processes evaluate and implement automation opportunities, communicating and maintaining appropriate training and risk assessments to ensure compliance with key corporate governance and legislation requirements (including UK Anti-Bribery, Corporate Criminal Offence (CCO), Fraud, Sanctions, GDPR and Human Rights/Modern Slavery legislation).
• Assist with internal and external audits as necessary, and assist in identifying, prioritising and developing response plans to risks identified in audits, assessments, etc. and assist with tracking and remediation, as appropriate.
• Stay informed of the current risk and compliance landscape, especially regarding applicable new or amended laws and regulations and assist in the development of updated procedures and controls addressing these changes.
• Provide assistance with the timely performance of counterparty and supplier due diligence reviews (KYC/AML checks).
• Liaise with front office personnel to understand and approve counterparties for proposed transactions.
• Delivering, efficient and effective compliance monitoring activities and assist with the development of new compliance metrics to ensure business and corporate compliance risk exposures are identified, evaluated, monitored and reported.
• Educate, influence and, where necessary, train key stakeholders to better understand key compliance requirements and risks.
What do you need to be great at this role?
• The successful candidate will be a degree holder.
• Compliance/professional qualification is desirable.
• Knowledge of the nuclear enrichment sector is beneficial but not essential.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a corporate compliance role.
• Familiarity with core corporate compliance regimes including (but not exclusively) UK Anti-Bribery, Corporate Criminal Offence, Export Control, Sanctions, GDPR and Human Rights/Modern Slavery Act legislation
• Experience of working in the energy/nuclear sector is desirable
• Experience of SAP or other ERP systems desirable.
• Effectively utilise research applications such as Lexis Diligence, Orbis, World Check and Dun & Bradstreet.
• Must be able to assess strategic risks and opportunities and be able to confidently use both qualitative and quantitative models/tools and to assess potential likelihood and impacts.
• Be comfortable both leading and being a part of broader cross functional teams tasked with enhancing Urenco’s risk and compliance frameworks.
