ILS Engineer

Location:             Leicester (hybrid working available)

Duration:             6 months

Rate:                  £60 - £70 per hour Umbrella or £43.88 - £51.20 per hour PAYE (inside IR35)

The successful candidate will join the Engineering Department and take full responsibility for conducting ILS activities on an Unmanned Air System programme.

Responsibilities

  • Identity and report trends and problem characteristics in the incidents.
  • Prepare for and support DRACAS Review Meetings and Boards.
  • Attend other meetings as required – including, where applicable, meetings with Customers.
  • Support the ILS Manager in the generation of estimates.
  • Carry out reliability, and maintainability assessments on the system and components.
  • Review and assess the impact of technical queries on the deliverable system documentation.
  • Review and assess Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) output.
  • Initiate NATO codification of new and revised items of supply.
  • Create Logistics Support Analysis (LSA) data for system items of equipment and populate any required LSA database.
  • Generate Obsolescence notification forms.
  • Review and assess availability models for the system or system LRUs.
  • Provide ILS input for technical documentation.
  • Review and assess general purpose tools and test equipment for suitability.

Proven Ability / Key Skills

  • Previous proven ability in delivering ILS Services to Def-Stan 00-60 to the MOD
  • Understanding of the obsolescence monitoring and reporting process
  • Awareness of availability modelling
  • Awareness of S1000D technical publication process
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of, Reliability, Maintainability and Availability (Def

  • Good understanding of the requirements for Logistics Support Analysis and the associated

Please note, due to the sensitive nature of the project involved all applicants must be capable of gaining a UK MOD Security Clearance to SC level.
