And right now, we’re looking for a Project Manager. Based at our Capenhurst site location you’ll provide excellence in driving the delivery of capital projects across the Capenhurst site.

The position covers the full project lifecycle from project set up / initiation, through to project delivery stages and closure.

 

What will your day look like?

  • Proactively cultivate a safety-first culture and serve as a role model throughout all project phases and within the Group.
  • Offer guidance, consultation, and feedback to refine the Group’s Project Delivery Strategy, ensuring alignment with UUK’s objectives and strategies across its capital expenditure portfolio.
  • Assume overall responsibility for project delivery, ensuring safety, scope, cost, schedule, and business benefits objectives are met.
  • Effectively communicate strategy, objectives, and benefits to business units and the group, implementing organizational strategies for maximum business impact.
  • Develop a high-performing team, ensuring seamless integration of all sub-disciplines and functions throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Strengthen owner relationships with subcontractors and vendors.
  • Safeguard Urenco’s commercial position by implementing industry best practices in contracting strategies, supplier selection, procurement, contract negotiation, and management.
  • Utilise cross-industry experience to continually monitor the market for best practices, analysing developments and assessing their potential for value creation, delivery, capture, and protection by Urenco.
  • Facilitate knowledge retention and transfer within Urenco, conducting lessons learned reviews to drive continuous improvement in all project engineering practices.

What do you need to be great at this role? 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study
  • Accreditation in Project Management, such as APM or PMI
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on leadership experience overseeing EPC projects, either in a Project Manager capacity or as an owner representative
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex, multi-contract, multi-disciplinary projects from conception to completion
  • On-site construction experience
  • Minimum of 3 years managing diverse, multicultural teams
  • Demonstrated success in project delivery across various industries
  • Ability to analyse project requirements and key success factors, devising customized Delivery Strategies accordingly
  • Experience in developing and executing strategies aligning with business objectives (safety, budget, cost, benefits)
  • Proficiency in navigating ambiguity and taking decisive accountability for project delivery
  • Expertise in managing intricate contractual relationships, including the management of suppliers to ensure timely delivery
  • Skilled in assembling and leading high-performing teams, effectively communicating strategy and fostering accountability for project success
  • Solid understanding of leading project management methodologies
  • Ability to lead project teams to success with minimal oversight
  • Technical background in engineering
  • In-depth knowledge of EPC contractors, major EPS, and Construction supply markets, with the ability to leverage relationships for Urenco’s benefit
  • Proven track record in contract delivery management, safeguarding the owner’s contractual interests and minimising the risk of claims
  • Fluent in business English and conversant in the specific business language relevant to the role’s location
