Job Title: Water Site Agent

Location: Midlands (West Midlands and East Midlands)

Industry: Water & Civil Engineering (Civils, M&E, Tunnelling, Utilities) 

Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 + Package. (Salary Not Set - Negotiable Based On Relevant Experience).

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Water Site Agent to join our team and lead a diverse group of professionals in the delivery of our water projects. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and timely execution of your project, while adhering to budget, programme, and quality requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure strict adherence to our Health, Safety, Quality, and Environment (HSQE) management systems and processes.
  • Efficiently plan, manage, and deliver the project in alignment with our company’s vision, strategy, and values.
  • Strategically plan all construction operations to meet required deadlines.
  • Promote a robust safety culture among all staff and subcontractors on the project.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to staff, operatives, and subcontractors.
  • Effectively manage and mentor junior technical site staff, supporting their development and growth.
  • Determine required resources (manpower, plant, equipment, subcontractors, and materials) from start to finish, considering budget constraints.
  • Collaborate with the purchasing department to ensure purchase orders accurately define requirements.
  • Negotiate deals with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure optimal project outcomes.
  • Obtain permits and licences from relevant authorities, ensuring project compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain open communication with clients and their representatives (architects, engineers, surveyors, etc.), attending regular meetings to provide progress updates.
  • Manage, monitor, and interpret contract documents provided by our client and their representatives.
  • Coordinate temporary and permanent works design, obtaining required certifications.
  • Evaluate progress on site and promptly report any issues or concerns to the Regional Director.
  • Provide timely and accurate project updates, including progress, programme, finance, HSQE, risks, and opportunities.
  • Develop construction budgets, forecasts, and resource requirements, ensuring effective cost management throughout the project.
  • Ensure all changes to specifications, work scope, and drawings are documented, and contract obligations are met.
  • Create detailed client progress reports, accounts, and budgets.
  • Measure and value completed works on site in collaboration with the project quantity surveyor, ensuring accuracy and transparency in all financial matters.
  • Foster strong client relationships to promote new business opportunities.

Candidates will ideally:

  • Previously experience delivering medium to large Civil Engineering and MEICA works within the Water industry, as a Site Agent or Project Manager.
  • Hold a relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, such as a Degree or similar.
  • Hold relevant qualifications such as SMSTS and CSCS etc.
