The Opportunity

Do you have the expertise to redefine human-machine interfaces in naval safety? Are you ready to join a company dedicated to naval innovation worldwide?

We are seeking Safety & Environmental Engineers to play a crucial role in our mission to enhance maritime safety. In this role, you will develop and maintain System Safety and Environmental Cases for AEUK Products, Systems, and Services (PSS). Your work will ensure that all residual risks to personnel and the environment are acceptably safe and environmentally compliant.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Develop and maintain safety and environmental cases for complex maritime systems, aligning with relevant legislation and domain standards.
  • Utilize recognized qualitative and quantitative techniques, such as HAZOPS, SWIFT, FTA, ETA, and FMECA, to identify and assess intrinsic and functional hazards.
  • Support product integrity and certification requirements, including assigning Safety Integrity Levels in compliance with IEC 61508 or equivalent.
  • Identify environmental aspects and impacts using industry-recognized techniques.
  • Influence system design by developing safety & environmental requirements and tracking them through to implementation.
  • Manage ongoing safety hazards and environmental aspects using advanced tools.
  • Create structured and robust compliance arguments from diverse sources of information using recognized techniques.
  • Prepare and lead engaging multi-stakeholder safety and environmental meetings.

What We’re Looking For

  • An academic qualification in a relevant engineering-related discipline or extensive experience in a marine engineering environment.
  • Membership in a professional engineering organization or progress towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineering registration.
