Planner

Morson Talent are currently recruiting for a Planner to work on the behalf of one of our prestigious Aerospace clients based in Yeovil, Somerset. This role is a contract until December 2024.

Develop and maintain the project master schedule in accordance with the contract, through direct liaison with other business functions. Ensure the integrity of data throughout the project life cycle. Prepare reports to provide project status information to the programmes team and customer. Identify schedule, cost variances, and work with the programme team and directly with business functions to establish corrective actions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and maintain the schedule in accordance with the work breakdown structure (WBS), contracted scope, delivery dates, and financial baseline and the clients’ procedures.
• Work with the Project teams to ensure timely monthly updates.
• Ensure the schedule and SAP data are aligned to identify any data inaccuracies and proactively strive to correct any issues.
• Assess progress and analyse the impact of forecast changes (schedule and financial) to identify threats at the earliest opportunity.
• Work with the project team to perform critical path and ‘what if’ schedules.
• Control the project baseline (schedule and financial) to reflect any contracted amendments. Control the allocation of contingency reserve and updates to the schedule baseline ensuring alignment to the risk register.
• Produce internal and customer reports to confirm the project cost and schedule variance, future key milestones and to include earn value analysis.
• Generate purchase requisitions and perform service receipts to support project requirements.
• Provide planning support to the project teams.
• Executing all activities in accordance with the client’s policy, procedure, and processes.
• Establishing and implementing standards and best practice across Programmes or projects.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

• Good knowledge of company products and organisation.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a team setting and to provide leadership when required.
• Effective & persuasive in building a network of contacts within the client, creating strong relationships with the clients performing functional areas.
• Proficient in the use of SAP and Microsoft Project (as core planning tool) and other common Microsoft packages.
• Excellent analytical and planning skills with good attention to detail.
• Ability to learn quickly and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to maintain a clear focus on goals & priorities.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Experience in the planning and scheduling of complex tasks within an aerospace or similar industrial environment.

37 hours p/w, 20% onsite.
