Morson Talent are currently recruiting for a Material Supply Officer to work on the behalf of one of our reputable Aerospace clients based in Yeovil, Somerset. This Contract role is Temporary Maternity cover until May 2025.

Job Purpose

To support the Material Delivery Manager in the delivery and management of material supply to the aircraft build facility, ensuring milestones and aircraft deliveries are successful and within financial budgets.
To be a contact for business stakeholders ensuring clear and timely communication reference material status, risks, and escalations.

Main Activities and Tasks

  • Take ownership of and resolve complex material problems to ensure customer satisfaction and business improvement.
  • Working closely with the Production Logistic Controllers and Aircraft Managers to make sure material is delivered to the build facility on time.
  • Forge good working relationships with business stakeholders, including Procurement, Logistics provider, Programmes, Manufacturing Engineering and MRP making certain that priorities are clear and managed appropriately in the material flow.
  • Be self-sufficient in the analysis of material data and the execution of business processes, ensuring key issues are escalated appropriately.
  • Attend material review meetings and provide material status reports as required by the business to support understanding and decision making.
  • Provide support to team members to ensure individual and team effectiveness.
  • You are responsible for taking reasonable care of your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your acts or omissions at work and to co-operate with managers, supervisors, and others to enable the company to meet its statutory obligations for health, safety and environment.
  • Specific responsibilities for Employees are detailed within HSEMSM, Section 8.7.
  • You should take responsibility for understanding the Code of Ethics - Core Instruction No.PER.10.3 and making sure that you comply with it at all times whilst doing your job and, in particular, when acting for or on behalf of LHUK.

Qualification/ Experience

  • Relevant technical proficiency and experience, either through technical qualification/ training or experience.

Key Skills

  • Ability to influence and negotiate with others using facts and evidence.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Detailed understanding of material processes and their impact on the wider business
  • Skills and experience in data analysis and interpretation
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
