Manufacturing Engineer

Morson Talent are currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer to work on the behalf of one of our prestigious clients based in Yeovil. This is a contract role until April 2025, with possibility of extension.

JOB PURPOSE

- Non-conformance Management: SAP focal point of the non-conformance QN system for the Manufacturing Engineering department, correct address of Non Conf for a quick completion of the process.
- Liaison with Production: responsibilities is related to regular contact with the shop floor build teams and supervisors, overviewing the scheduled adherence of a Non Conformity resolution progress but also feeding back information’s on current build quality and features found checking corrective actions effectiveness in relation to re-occurring or severe product non-conformances.
- Sustaining Engineering - Taking Updated the Database of Relevant precedents for ATE, Liaison is also crucial for the support towards ME ATE in the approval of Concessions also supporting the daily contact with Engineering.
- Manufacturability Analysis - taking updated a system of monitoring able to find significant issues.
- Manufacturability Analysis - analyse data coming from Production and Non-Conformity taking updated Manufacturability Reports this system helps DCC, Quality and Manufacturing Engineering to focus significant issues affecting Costs and/or Delivery/Schedule.

KEY JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Represent Manufacturing Engineering in assessing the ease of manufacture in Design Reviews and
act in a liaison capacity between Design & Production.
• Represent Manufacturing Engineering with Engineering in Non Conformance discussions.
• Providing technical support interacting with design, supply and operational teams in order to ensure effective and efficient specification and development of components before and during manufacture.
• Identification and implementation of improvements to the build process and build logic.
• Participating in research and development programmes within DCC in support of introduction of new product and process development both internally with Engineering and external organisations.
• Participating in multi-disciplinary cross-functional teams in support of DCC business needs.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Understand the principles of MRP.
• Able to use graphics software.
• Familiar with the Engineering change process and documentation.
• Team worker and good communicator with influencing skills, familiar with proven analysis & problem solving.
• Familiar with the use of estimating model spreadsheets as provided by work analysis.
• Knowledge of composite component manufacture desirable.
• A sound understanding of Manufacturing Technology.
• High level of working knowledge of Manufacturing Engineering functions.
• Ability to use SAP knowledge.
• Engineer background from an Aerospace or high integrity mechanical manufacturing environment.

90% Onsite, 37 hours p/w.
