Senior Management & Project Accountant

Location: Bristol

6 months – liklihood of extension for the right candiate

Hybrid - 2 days work from home 

£60,000 pro rata

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Finance team to join our Space business. Due to a recent team change the business now seeks an experienced Senior Management & Project Financial Controller to join this dynamic and collaborative team. Working with multiple stakeholders such as the Chief Finance Officer, Financial Controller, Bid Managers and Project Managers and Controllers.

Responsibilities:

• Completion of the financial elements and forecasts to support Program Dashboards in relation to existing and future predicted programmes.
• Monitoring and challenge of project expenditure and delivery on assigned programs.
• Attendance at Programme reviews and supporting program managers and other management to understand financial position.
• Ensuring Programme Managers are reflecting correctly the cost estimates at completion (EAC).
• Monitoring and reporting on risks associated with the wider business and programmes.
• Support treasury related topics.
• In conjunction with the Financial Controller and the Business Controller preparation of annual budgets, business plans and forecasts.
• Provide financial Support to other functional requirements – reporting / Audits / Bids as required.
• Support the Business controller in month end activities, reporting cycles and statutory accounts.
• Ensure financial integrity and adherence to process.

Skills & Experience

We are looking for an individual to have experience of Project Accounting and a good level of understanding of financial accounts as well as budgeting within an engineering/manufacturing background. You will have the ability to interact and communicate complex issues with stakeholders at all levels in a Matrix organization.

The right person for the role will be a team player who has the ability to assimilate and analyse technical, financial and commercial information as well as being an expert in Excel.
A good working understanding of ERP systems (ideally Oracle) would be an advantage but not essential.

Desirable
• While specific knowledge of the French Language is not a prerequisite for this position it would be advantageous to facilitate activities across the wider business.

Qualifications:
A professional accounting qualification. Ideally CIMA, ACCA or equivalent would be great however experience within Project Accounting is key.  If you feel that this is the role for you please feel free to send us your CV today.
