Making safety incident reporting simpler is the ethos behind the Morson Group’s recently released close call app.

The close call app, developed with mobile technology agency Apadmi, simplifies and streamlines the reporting process into one simple form onscreen. Anyone can fill in basic details and input a description of the incident or hazard, with the option to add a photo. Once submitted, the report is sent to the health and safety teams across the Group, as well as the relevant operational directors.

The app has already been flawlessly integrated into the London rail operations, resulting in increased reporting across the worksites.

“Previously, in order to report a close call, anyone would have to go to the website and log on, or find a phone signal and call a reporting number”, said Gareth Morris, HSQE director for Morson. “Consequently, we found that some incidents or potential hazardous situations were not being logged.”

“Making the app one simple process that anyone can fill in on-site and use with ease was the right step forward in ensuring all are encouraged to report any close calls.”  “The reporting of any close calls such as unsafe situations, actions or behaviours that have the potential to cause harm is key to reducing and eliminating accidents at work. Any accident at work is not acceptable.”

The app is compatible with both Apple iOS and Android systems.

“Accurate and regular reporting is vital in making sure there are no accidents at work and that everyone works safe and gets home safely every day.”
