We have a fantastic executive level opportunity with our defence client based in Barrow.

Role Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced and highly capable individual to join our client’s team as a Supply Chain and Procurement Strategist. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing long-term supply chain and procurement strategies, as well as supporting future supply chain design. This is an executive level position, with our defence client based in Barrow, and will involve a hybrid working arrangement with 1-2 days on site and flexible remote work options. This is a temporary position, with potential for permanent placement, and will fall under IR35 regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement long-term supply chain strategies for ongoing build projects
  • Lead the development of strategic sourcing strategies for current and future programmes
  • Identify opportunities for alignment and integration with other business functions and the wider Submarine Enterprise
  • Leverage embedded opportunities in the supply chain using Business and Enterprise frameworks
  • Analyse category trends, demand, and opportunities using a range of tools
  • Lead and influence a cross-functional team of stakeholders to design and implement business benefit
  • Champion procurement and embed category management of direct spend across UK businesses
  • Develop support material for category management, standardising processes and documenting lessons learned and best practises

Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience in precontract supply chain and procurement strategy development
  • Strong understanding of supply chain performance and metrics
  • Knowledge of quality management principles
  • Experience in supplier management and development
  • Ability to identify and implement supplier innovation
  • Experience managing and coaching colleagues
