We are currently partnering with education sector client in Sheffield who are looking for a HR Manager to join their HR team on a full-time 9 month fixed term contract.
The salary for this role is circa £48,000 and our client offers the flexibility for some home-working 2 days per week. It is important for the HR Manager to have some flexibility to go on site visits when required to conduct some face-to-face meetings, although this will not be overly frequent.
The HR Manager is responsible for leading a team of 5 who are responsible for the Advisory and Partnering area of the business. The team provide a HR service which is predominantly advisory on a range of employee relations matters such as change management, disciplinaries, grievances, absence management. There is also a lot of trade union activity alongside HR projects relating do ED&I and employee engagement.
The Role:
- Develop and maintain all HR systems and procedures to ensure that HR management activity complies with legal requirements
- Design and implement training, tools and interventions to develop managers skills, capability and confidence with relation to ER issues
- Line management of the HR Advisors to ensure efficient and effective handling of all ER casework
- Be an escalation point for the HR Advisors, supporting with disputes appropriately and utilising legal support as appropriate
- Lead change process activity and consultations to support stakeholders
- Support the Head of HR to develop the people strategy and deliver strategic projects against the HR delivery plan
- Partner with stakeholders and understanding key priorities
- Drive continuous improvement
Requirements:
- Experience of being a HR Manager/Lead, leading a HR Advisory team
- Expert in employee relations and employment law
- Experience of working within a multi-academy trust
- Experience of managing trade union relationships
- Proven ability to contribute to development and implementation of a wide range of HR initiatives
- Can commit to the FTC until January 2024
- Is flexible to travel to different sites to meet the needs of the business when required
