The successful Planner will ensure an effective and efficient supply chain is in place to ensure the efficient and effective operation of AEUK exceeding targets including customer delivery and quality. The Planner will also manage the Planning Activities of AEUK ensuring production is scheduled accurately and effectively communicated to the business and ensure material is available to allow efficient production utilisation.

Key responsibilities of the Planner:

• Responsible for ensuring demand is loaded, accurate and available at in accordance with project schedules and in line with agreed LCM on a project-by-project basis
• Provide support to Bids and Projects ensuring that the Gantt reflects the production plan, and that adequate material and resource is available and achievable
• Liaise and assist the Master Scheduler in ensuring the resource and capacity plans are accurate and actively assist in developing AEUK programme planning and delivery
• Work proactively with engineering, manufacture engineering and relevant project personnel to ensure loading strategies consider all implications of what is required to achieve clean data and realistic timescales
• Lead planning reporting to Projects including schedule risks and opportunities
• Manage WOs throughout lifecycle including handover to Test and Acceptance and Service and Support as required
• Proactively work with Procurement and stores to ensure 100% kit availability
• Contribute to Make/Buy decisions at a part level working with Procurement, Engineering and Production
• Develop working relationships with stakeholders to work effectively and ensure the value of the planner is championed throughout the business
• Drive Change Management process for active W0’s completing impact analysis to inform decisions
• Manage stock availability and stock holding in ERP ensuring stock is correctly allocated to Projects, including lineside where implemented
• Make stockholding and build to stock recommendations that will enhance AEUK on time delivery

Knowledge and experience of the Planner:

• Demonstratable experience of planning and project management principles and practice
• Ability to effectively communicate and present to all stakeholders
• Experience of Work package planning and management
• Understanding and application of estimation, costing, pricing and bid processes
• Demonstrable experience and understanding of production principles and processes
• Skilled in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Projects) – IT capable
• AX knowledge a definite advantage – must have MRP/ERP experience
