HMI Engineer

Morson are currently recruiting for a HMI Engineer for an initial 6 month contract which is likely to be extended based in Heybridge, Essex the first 6 months will be site based.

Job Specification:

Based within the Engineering department and reporting to the Systems Engineering Manager.
Take responsibly for the creation and management of HMI library objects and their functionality.
Support the HMI production team.
Take responsibility for the design through to internal testing, commissioning and handover.
Attendance at internal and customer meetings both on and off site.
Program HMI software using a simplified C based scripting language.

Qualifications:

HNC level or higher in a relevant Engineering or Technical discipline, ideally with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in HMI creation.

Requirements and Skills:

Experience of HMI design.
Familiarity with SCADA or DCS control systems.
Familiarity with P&ID drawings.
Experience of structured programming languages an advantage e.g. C, C++, Structured Text.
Competent in computer technology.
Good interpersonal skills – able to communicate well with colleagues and customers.
Ability to work well within a team whilst at the same time demonstrating initiative and the ability to work without supervision.
Strong analytical skills as well as an eye for detail
Ability to interpret complex documents.
Hold citizenship in the UK or NATO member country.
