Quantity Surveyor

Job Title: Quantity Surveyor - PFP
Location: Orpington
Type: Permanent
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum plus car allowance and bonus (negotiable subject to experience)

A leading property service contractor is seeking a Quantity Surveyor (with some experience in Passive Fire Protection) to join permanently and assist in tendering and contract documents to aid the continual growth of the business.
As an integral member of the team, you will be involved in an array of sectors including Healthcare, Education, Social Housing, Commercial and Industrial as such, understanding and experience in the Passive Fire Protection Industry will be beneficial. This is a standalone role with regional and national support.

Responsibilities:
• Monitor ongoing contract costs against original tender figures and address variations promptly.
• Regularly review branch cost base including labour rates, subcontractors, and materials.
• Support commercial tender decisions and contribute to pre-tender submissions.
• Communicate with regional and branch managers to improve commercial performance and mitigate payment risks.
• Provide commercial assurance through forecasting and project reviews, identifying and addressing potential commercial risks.
• Ensure accurate estimation aligned with client specifications and industry standards.
• Conduct thorough review of contract/tender documentation to mitigate risks.
• Ensure subcontract orders meet quality standards to prevent potential claims against the Company.
• Timely submission of payment applications in agreed format to facilitate prompt payment.
• Oversee subcontractor payments in accordance with Company Policy.
• Complete final accounts within contractual deadlines and provide accurate financial reports reflecting contract status producing Monthly CVR reports in group format.

What we require from you:
• Degree qualification in quantity surveying or relative construction field
• Understanding and implementation of technical details.
• Understanding of different forms of contracts including NEC, JCT
• Experience in producing CVRs
• Passionate and experienced in influencing and building relationships with key stakeholders.
• Competent across all Microsoft Office Suites

This role offers a generous annual bonus, 31 days annual leave with an option of a company car or car allowance.
