Communications Manager

£62.02 per hour Umbrella

Are you a communication specialist, capable of sharing information expertly to both large and small audiences? Morson are currently recruiting for a Communicants Manager for one of our prestigious defence clients. You would be working within their Operational Excellence team, delivering communications across the business and engagement from various stakeholders. The role is hybrid remote and can be based in Frimley, Filton or Weymouth and is currently being offered on a contract basis until the end of the year with possibility of extension.

Working across Integrated Combat Systems you will be the communications specialist within a team of Business Analysts delivering continuous improvements and organisational change. This role requires a proactive individual with exceptional communication skills and a strategic mindset to effectively convey the programmes message and foster collaboration among stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication plans to support the objectives of the business improvement programme.
  • Create engaging content for various channels, including newsletters, emails, social media, and presentations, to effectively communicate programme updates, and successes.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement activities, including workshops, events, and feedback sessions, to gather input and foster a sense of ownership and participation.
  • Provide support and guidance to leaders and managers in delivering effective communication to their teams.
  • Employee Engagement Initiatives: Design and implement engagement programs to foster a culture of operational excellence.
  • Develop platforms or forums for employees to exchange ideas, insights, and innovative solutions.
  • Performance Metrics and Reporting: Define relevant KPIs and performance metrics to track the progress of operational excellence initiatives.
  • Generate regular reports and dashboards to communicate performance outcomes and identify areas for improvement.

Essential Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Able to deliver engaging content across an organisation via email.
  • Strong understanding of communication principles, change management methodologies, and employee engagement strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Proficiency in project management, data analysis, and presentation software.

Desired Requirements

  • Proven experience (5 + years) in operational excellence, change management, or organisational development roles, with a focus on communications and employee engagement.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Business Administration, Organisational Development, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.

Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will be SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance
