Morson is proud to have provided a logistics solution to the Leonardo Helicopters, the Culdrose Logistics Facility (CLF) and the AW101 at RNAS Culdrose since 1998.
Morson was initially awarded the contract on a transactional basis; requiring risk based pricing, calculating manpower requirements from spares and repairs throughput modelled data.
The original service level requirements were based upon forecast numbers of transactions for each year of the operation. The number of actual transactions far exceeded the original forecasts. Morson managed successfully the increases in transaction levels and manpower.
As the experience grew, throughput and processes matured, the Morson contract evolved to a managed staffing solution.
Flexible working practises and cross training of staff has resulted in well qualified multi-functional team of logistics and support staff. Morson provides logistics personnel, administration support, inspectors, planners and quality and boundary cell engineers in support of the Leonardo Helicopters IMOS programme, including the support to the IMOS, Merlin depth maintenance facility.
The Morson objective is to manage the productive output of the logistics team by providing proactive engagement and HR support to the workforce.
The team works in close partnership with Leonardo Helicopters and the Royal Navy to ensure spares are processed, stored and despatched. The CLF has developed into a facility which is second to none in the defence industry. Its component control and audit record has been excellent.
