Quality Management Lead

|
Suffolk, England

Morson are currently recruiting for Quality Management Lead based in the East of England to work in the Energy sector. The role of the Quality Management Lead, Surveyor is centred around ensuring that project quality standards are met throughout the entire life cycle of the project, covering various stages such as Contract Award, Design, Procurement, Manufacturing, Testing, Shipping, Construction/Installation, and Contract Closeout.

As a primary function, the Quality Management Lead, Surveyor is responsible for conducting Quality Assurance checks on survey networks within agreed timelines across both the Main Construction Area and Temporary Construction Area. This entails monitoring and verifying survey activities carried out by construction contractors to ensure strict compliance with contracted quality assurance and control standards.

Collaboration with civils and construction teams is vital to validate quantities provided by contractors and extend technical support, initially focusing on Mechanical and Electrical aspects as the project progresses.

This role supports the project by fulfilling the role of an Intelligent Customer (IC) and Principal Contractor, positioned within the PDO Quality Team and deployed to various programs to serve this core function. Reporting to the Quality Delivery Manager (QDM) on a daily basis, the role ensures compliance with Program quality requirements.

Furthermore, the Quality Management Lead, Surveyor assists the PDO Quality Director and QDM in achieving adherence to Integrated Management System arrangements, establishing project-specific measures when necessary, and overseeing quality management across the programs activities.

Acting as the single point of contact for all survey-related aspects within the supply chain, this role ensures the implementation of arrangements by the supply chain in alignment with lessons learned from previous projects. The role also monitors and reports on quality metrics, conducts audits of suppliers and sub-contractors, and ensures supplier performance meets project goals.

During construction, the role involves ensuring constructed elements align with contract design and technical specifications by reviewing technical documentation and conducting inspections in collaboration with contractors and delivery teams.

The Quality Management Lead, Surveyor collaborates closely with various project functions, including Commercial/Supply Chain, Responsible Designer, surveillance providers, suppliers, and contract partners, to ensure consistent delivery of project quality in accordance with work scope and quality arrangements.

Contextual Information:

This position operates within the Quality Delivery Team in the PDO Quality Department, contributing to the Civils Works Programme and supporting other construction and manufacturing activities.

The Quality Delivery Team acts as the Intelligent Customer, ensuring quality arrangements are implemented effectively across supply chains for manufacturing and construction activities within the delivery programs.

The role reports day-to-day to the Quality Delivery Manager, providing progress reports on deliverables, issues, and escalation points. Progress meetings occur at the discretion of the Quality Delivery Manager within their program.

Principal Accountabilities, Activities, and Decisions:

Development and adherence to survey organization notes and necessary procedures covering survey activities and interfaces with contractors and stakeholders.
Oversight of contractors adequacy and organization to ensure work aligns with survey standards and procedures.
Participation in kick-off meetings with contractors and validation of required documentation.
Specific monitoring actions as per the Survey Strategy, data validation, and contribution to reports and performance indicators.
Support in developing quality arrangements across site and actions to resolve quality-related issues and drive improvements.
Review and production of quality documentation, including specifications and procedures, as needed.
