A Software Engineer is required for 6 month+ contract in South Manchester, these is full-time on-site position (37 hours/week).
C++ and/or Java development on Linux required. This is software design & development for Sonar Systems.
Key responsibilities will include the design, implementation and test of Human Computer Interface, Acoustic processing and middleware products, using industry standard tools and methods
Essential Skills
- C++ and/or Java development
- Development on Linux, ideally RedHat.
- AGILE development
- JIRA, Git, Jenkins.
- Knowledge of requirements capture & config management tools
Desirable
- Unix development environments.
- Containerisation, Kubernetes / Docker
- Knowledge of Ansible roles/playbooks
- Knowledge of Security hardening of Linux (selinux/STIG)
- Knowledge of network programming experience
- Knowledge of scripting languages (Bash, Python, Shell, Perl, Tcl)
Additional:
Due to the sensitive nature of the product all applicants must have worked within the Defence / Military industry within the last 12 months or be capable of obtaining Security Clearance (SC level minimum).
