Morson are recruiting an In-Situ Machinist for a 12 month contract with our leading Barrow based defence client. Candidates must be aime served In-situ Machinist, Machinist, Mechanical fitter /turner with NVQ level 3 or Equivalent Qualification, proof of qualifications will be required.
Rates on offer as follows:
Local (Up to 39 miles from LA14)
£24.53 + £3.57/hour holiday pay - PAYE
£31.97 Umbrella
Non Local (39 Miles+ from LA14)
£32.53 + £4.73/hour holiday pay - PAYE
£42.11 Umbrella
Please note whilst we expect the roles to be operating on a night shift pattern, there could however be flexibility for other shift patterns, the above rates are the night shift rates.
The In-Situ Machinit will conduct machining activities on-board the submarine units, using machines best suited to the task and to work to drawing tolerances/parameters and quality requirements.
Day to day:
Set the machine up around the product and the role will involve line-boring operations, levelling, hydroplaning, and making sure it is in line with the tolerances.
Background experience:
HM would consider individuals with Mechanical Fitters experience if the experience were tailored to In-Situ.

The role holder:

• Follow the relevant instructions, drawings and any other specifications.
• Use the appropriate methods and techniques to conduct machining activities.
• Check the completed activity to ensure that all operations have been completed to meet the required specification.
• Use associated tools and equipment safely and effectively
