CNC Machinist

Morson are recruiting for several CNC Machinists for night shift work with our leading aerospace client in Filton, this will be an initial 6 month contract but is likely to be extended and could become a permanent position for the right person. 28 days holiday (pro rata) will also be paid. 

The CNC Machinists will work on  3 on 4 off night shift pattern. Candidates must be ok to work Sunday - Tuesday 18.45 - 6.30am, 36 hours paid per week. This shift rotates after 16 weeks to Wednesday - Friday so candidates must be ok to work both of these shifts. 

Initially candidates will need to work day shift and will move over to nights after initial training. 

The night shift rate will increae to £25.76 after the first 12 weeks on nights. 

The CNC Machinist will operate as a multi-skilled, flexible worker to ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency. Tasks will be undertaken and worked through the use of:
• Machining of parts aircraft parts to drawing specification
• Checking of parts using conventional equipment including height gauges
• Micrometers, vernier, calipers to meet required specification
• Working to engineering drawings
• Manufacturing to defined high tolerances
• Manually or mechanically move components to ensure the effective flow of production within the cell
• Deburring for onward safe handling only

Responsibilities

Ensure parts are produced on a ‘right first time’ basis

Ensure that any calibrated equipment used is within date

Management of machine stoppages with maintenance and escalation as required

Completion of Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM)

Management of 5S within area ie. tooling, work set station and general area

Responsible for keeping machines tidy and maintain good standards of housekeeping in designated work area(s)
