Workshop Manager

To plan, organise and co-ordinate all workshop operations in full compliance with the Company's QSHEW requirements and through proactive and collaborative engagement with the project teams.
To liaise with the Company's representatives responsible for PUWER, LOLER, Infrastructure management and QSHEW Management and implement the necessary actions to comply with the appropriate and relevant legislation.

Key Objectives
* Co-operate with project representatives to manage and direct all workshop operations and facilities so as to provide safe, secure and efficient work environment, ensuring

 all plant and equipment is safely operated
 all physical resources are maintained, stored and organised to allow efficient and effective operation
 resources are made available as required within time and quality criteria

* Ensure that provision of facilities and equipment is adequate for those engaged in the workshop and that all appropriate personal protective equipment is worn and correctly used at all times
* Ensure appropriate and approved risk assessments and method statements are in place
* Ensure resource availability is aligned with ongoing continuity of work for workshop personnel as agreed at workshop resource meeting
* Manage Supplier, Contractor and Sub-Contractor personnel and activities as necessary in collaboration with the relevant project team
* Communicate timely and clearly all necessary information and instructions to workshop personnel
* Manage and support a team of skilled semi-skilled and technically based individuals, through sound personnel practices and through the administration of

 relevant and effective recruitment and induction
 regular performance appraisal, development and assessment interviews
 employee relations and welfare policies
 evaluation and identification of training needs

* Ensure all personnel, their work activity and actions meet stringent criteria and comply with the requirements of
 Matrix Park Plan
 Health & Safety Policy, Procedures and Work Instructions
* Assist in production of generic and project / site specific Safety Procedures and Method Statements

* Contribute to progress reports, routine reports and statements, with any necessary supporting documentation for communication internally and with relevant external contacts such as
 Client/Project Representative
 Sub-Contractor representative
 Outside bodies - ONR, HSE etc.

* Provide a professional and informed point of contact for all operations carried out within the Workshop
* Provide input to supply appropriate information as required by other areas of the organisation, eg. Business Development
